Storm Dominate In Best Performance Of the Season
There was a minute's silence in honour of Remembrance Sunday before the game started
Newquay Storm produced their finest performance of the season on Saturday, securing a commanding 64-44 victory over Titans Thunder in North Devon.
Despite a two-hour journey to the venue and missing key centre court player Aimee Thompson due to injury, Storm showed immense focus and cohesion to dominate the game.
The match began with a poignant minute's silence for Remembrance Sunday, setting a reflective tone before the action unfolded. Once play began, Storm wasted no time asserting their dominance.
Kirstie Worth and Amelia Gard were in sensational form in the shooting circle, delivering a brilliant display that left Titans Thunder struggling to keep pace. Their accuracy and movement proved pivotal in building and maintaining Stormβs lead.
In the midcourt, Lizzie Lewis, stepping in for Thompson, was tireless in her efforts, controlling the tempo and connecting play. This match marked a farewell for Lewis, as she embarks on her travels for the coming months.
Defensively, Stormβs backline was sharp and disciplined, limiting Titans Thunderβs opportunities and forcing turnovers at crucial moments. The entire teamβs determination and synergy were evident throughout, making this performance one of their most complete to date.
The win cements Newquay Storm firmly in 3rd place in South West Regional League 3.
