Newquay Storm finish regular season with a win, now for the Playoffs!
Newquay wrapped up the Regional League 3 season with a hard fought win away at CCNC Lions in a game rearranged from earlier this season.
With Centre Aimee Thompson and Goal Attack Amelia Gard both out, it was a different starting seven for the final game.
Libby Evans was in the match day squad and made her Regional League debut at Wing Defence, Lizzie Lewis also continued her return to the squad after missing most of the season away travelling.
As for the game, with the top two positions already decided it was a classic end of season game with nothing riding on it. It was fairly tight all the way through until the final quarter when Storm ran the lead out a little.
With the regular season concluded, Newquay Storm now focus on preparing for the Regional 2 Playoffs which they’ve qualified for after their second place finish.
This year the Playoffs take place in Bristol at the new Chellaram Sports Centre at Clifton College just four miles from Junction 19 (Gordano Services) of the M5.
